FOR CULTURAL SIGHTS

Big Buddha
The symbol of Phuket and visible from nearly every part of the island. Well worth and early morning trip to view the sunrise.

Wat Chalong
For over a century Wat Chalong has been open to visitors, when you arrive there is a lot to see, starting with Poh Jao Wat which houses two statues of elderly men, one is Ta Khee-Lek (a local who won various lotteries after he had been to visit the Poh Than Jao Wat statue, the other is called Nonsi. Probably the highlight of your visit will be the Grand Pagoda which contains a small splinter from the bone of Lord Buddha, The pagoda is beautifully decorated with Buddha images and pictures that depict his life story.

Phuket Town
Often overlooked in favour of the beaches, but there’s a lot to see and do in this old town full of heritage buildings. Phuket Town features an exciting mix of old and new, simple and sophisticated, peaceful and pulsating. The activity in Phuket Town is nearly around the clock. In the early morning, stoic monks take to the streets on their daily alms rounds and the fresh market buzzes with restaurant owners buying ingredients for the day’s meals. Non-stop bustle characterises the daytime, and lasts well into the evening. Nights are reserved for enjoying good company, whether at a restaurant, a disco, a quiet bar, or a combination of all three. On Sunday they set up on Thalang Road the famous Walking Street.

Rawai Art Village
A group of talented Thai artists have come together to set up this bohemian, banyan-shaded arts commune, just off Rawai’s main strip. Feel free to wander the wonderfully creative home-studio-galleries packed with (mostly) boldly contemporary original artwork and, if you’re lucky, meet some of the eight resident artists.

FOR ELEHANTS

Phuket Elephant Sanctuary
Bordering the Khao Phra Thaeo National Park, the Phuket Elephant Sanctuary offers a new home for overtired elephants who have suffered from working long hours in the logging and tourism industry. As the first ethical elephant tourism experience in Phuket, we rescue sick, injured and old elephants, welcoming them back into their indigenous habit.

At the Sanctuary the Elephants can just be Elephants. Feed them pineapples and bananas, and observe these gentle giants as they enjoy their newfound freedom, socialize with each other and bathe freely in our expansive fresh water lagoons.

FOR WHITE SAND BEACHES & PERFECT VIEWS

Prompthep Cape: Sunset View Point well visited by tourists. The most South point of Phuket. The point is one of the most popular areas of Phuket and for this matter has an iconic status. Due to its location and southern facing views, it offers a picturesque view of the Andaman Sea. Also known as the ‘God’s Cape’ and ‘Laem Promthep’. It is a rocky piece of land that sticks out into the Andaman sea. It has tall cliffs that shape the point of the most southern part of Phuket Island.

Nui Beach: Private Beach 100 bath per journey. Nui Beach is really a tropical dream destination come true: perfectly maintained and cleaned up by the staff of Water Beach Club, it features a bar/restaurant, as well as many activities.

Freedom Beach: Freedom Beach is an exclusive gem on Phuket’s west coast; the 300m-long strip of white sand is set in a superb bay dotted with granite rocks and surrounded by hills covered by thick and luxuriant jungle. Essentially, Freedom Beach’s exclusivity comes from its rather difficult accessibility, although access is getting a bit easier nowadays.

Nai Harn Beach: A superb white beach with smooth sand, tucked between green hills and tiny islands in the south of Phuket. Wide Beach with Sunbeds available to rent with umbrella, many restaurant to choose from.
